Linda Westerman

Originally from West Yorkshire, now residing in North Lincolnshire, I have maintained contact with my home county as Director of Embroidery to York Minster Broderers, overseeing the embroidery of new vestments and altar frontals.

My own work reflects an interest in archaeology and history. These influences are interpreted in hand and machine embroidery, using a selection of thread. fabric, wire, paper and paints.  Pieces range from small intimate works to large hangings for public buildings.

My continued professional development is enhanced with input from Jean Littlejohn and membership of the following:

 Bolt - Embroiderers Guild

Present work looks at objects found in archaeological excavations, including Roman mosiacs and pavements and will be shown in exhibitions during 2010 and beyond.
