Linda Westerman
Originally from West Yorkshire, now residing in North Lincolnshire, I have maintained contact with my home county as a member of York Minster Broderers, carrying out embroidery on new vestments and altar frontals.
My own work reflects an interest in archaeology and history. These influences are interpreted in hand and machine embroidery, using a selection of thread. fabric, wire, paper and paints. Pieces range from small intimate works to large hangings for public buildings.
My continued professional development is enhanced with input from Julia Caprara and Jean Littlejohn and membership of the following:
Prism - Bolt - Embroiderers Guild - Nolitex - Van 18
Present work looks at objects found in archaeological excavations at grave sites and will be shown in exhibitions during 2008 and beyond.
